- I love caring for others and being there for our neighbors, it’s especially important during these difficult times which limit interaction with loved ones. I have grown to realize we are all that our neighbors have right now. Their lives and feelings matter most so caring and comforting our neighbors is what makes me most happy. We are a family at Maravilla. (Tyronza B.- 17 years as a CNA)
- Considering my anxiety was sending me into panic mode during the initial changes of COVID, I had to remind myself that God put me here to serve others. I was inspired to get my CNA license after losing my father at age 14. Our neighbors are like family. Providing the best possible care, comfort, love, and a warm heart is what I strive to do every day. (Olivia S.- 17 years as a CNA)
- I step up to the plate every day because I see our neighbors first and foremost as an addition to my family. I have a loving and understanding heart for people who are ill. When we first learned of COVID, I told myself I would do everything I can to protect and care for our neighbors and support the team. Front line workers have been referred to as heroes. I believe it is our neighbors who are the true heroes. I am grateful to have been in a position to help battle the daily struggles of isolation and maintain the ability to step in as family when family cannot. I thank God every day for the strength and courage to keep fighting. (Jeanette B.- 26 years as a CNA)
- I made the decision to step up and work the COVID unit because I made a commitment to this profession. It’s like marriage; for better or worse! Well the worse happened and I couldn’t just turn my back and walk away from the people who need me most! (Shelisa D.- 8 years as a CNA)
- I decided to step up and work the COVID unit because I knew how much my help was needed and appreciated. I knew my neighbors would count on me to be there for them during these unknown and difficult times. Even after contracting COVID myself and recovering, I came back to help others fight as soon as I could. (Mary M.- 11 years as CNA)
