Short-Term Therapy Success Story

A 66-year-old male was admitted to Maravilla after a fall on the stairs resulting in a femur fracture. He had previously resided in an Assisted Living Facility and underwent surgical repair. On admission to Maravilla, he was able to ambulate 100 feet with a walker with abnormal gait and decreased strength and balance. After 6 weeks of Physical Therapy, he is able to ambulate unlimited distances without a walker and no deficits in strength or balance. He has returned to his prior level of function and is able to return to his prior living setting if he chooses.
