Success Story
A 69-year-old male was admitted to Maravilla in December 2018 from another SNF. He had a history of vascular dementia and heart and kidney disease. He was ambulatory with a walker but had decreased strength and gait disturbances including foot drop. He could walk 150 feet maximum on admit with assistance. Previous medication issues led to his debility. He has been very motivated to go to a lower level of care and be independent. He has worked incredibly hard with Physical Therapy. He is now ambulating 1000 feet independently and is independent in transfers. He continues to work on strengthening and endurance and plans to discharge to a group home in the near future.
